Innovative care models are my specialty. I have not had a traditional CNC pathway. I have held may roles in both a leadership and consultant role. Much of my work has been at the cutting-edge designing model of care that are both clients focused and cost effective. This includes designing the INREACH model which is a model that supported residential care in managing acutely ill residents in the facility rather than transferring them to hospital. As an educator I set up and lectured in RTOs to deliver the Diploma of Nursing, plus sat on the steering committee that developed the Enrolled nursing upgrade diploma course and medication management course. I also lectured and facilitated clinical practice at university undergraduate level. My current focus is working on steering committees to identify and develop housing models that reflect the needs of the person living with a disability. I have a special focus on assisting the younger person living in residential care transition back into the community. My vision is one of inclusion and choice for the person living with a disability.
Improvement through education is a manta I live by. Currently I hold qualifications in both nursing and law. My current qualifications include -Health care: Clinical Nurse consultant, Diabetes Nurse Educator, Accredited Wound Consultant – Legal: Bachelor of Laws, Nationally Accredited Mediator, Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, Conflict Coach and Master in Conflict Resolution. Never being the one to stop learning I am currently completing my MBA.
Community involvement drives my passions. As a Rotarian I embrace all opportunities to support local and international communities. I am a strong defender of human rights and believe that we are only as strong as our weakest link. More than the Charter of Human Rights I believe that we should instead develop a Charter of Human Respect and Responsibilities.
