Sue has had a wonderful career spanning the past 40 years as a Registered Nurse, 32 of those years have been spent as the CEO of Newcastle and District Nursing Service.
Working as an entrepreneur, Sue has specialised in Aged and Clinical Nursing Care in the community. Part of Sue’s expertise covers training and assessment, focussing on supporting excellence in all aspects of community nursing care.
Sue is a social welfare officer, workplace trainer and assessor and skilled clinician in community nursing. Supporting staff and patients with ageing in place, transitional care, palliative care, chronic and acute health care management and recovery focussed practice.
During her career, Sue has sponsored and escorted multiple international tours to Fiji and China to support rural communities to teach & integrate different clinical practices into their every day life; a wonderful exchange of knowledge and wisdom practices within varying cultures.
Sue has always and continues to strive for excellence, quality and increasing skillset, knowledge, assessment and practicality in all the staff she supports in the NDNS business. Sue has a natural awareness of assessing challenging environments and situations while implementing successful expansion, growth and change; this is something that Sue is passionate about passing on to the staff that she mentors regularly.
Sue’s passion is supporting both staff and patients alike to get the best understanding of their needs, rights, responsibilities and realistic possibilities for the needs that present at any given time.
